Job description

The Operational Accounting team is responsible for month-end Group reporting and ensuring all Balance Sheet reconciliations meet acceptable standards. They handle queries from external audits, account for costs and revenues within SAP, and maintain strong relationships with Finance Business Partners to share actuals, forecasts, and budgets. The role requires working to tight month-end deadlines, timely submission of the Group Reporting Pack via One Stream, and developing best practice finance processes across UK and EMEA. The team supports other areas and operates on a hybrid basis, requiring 2-3 days in the office weekly.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of monthly sales, costs, accruals, and prepayments.
  2. Producing monthly reports on costs and headcount for business analysis.
  3. Collaborating with Finance Business Partners on financial information sharing.
  4. Tracking headcount and labor costs for variance analysis and forecasting.
  5. Meeting month-end deadlines for balance sheet analysis and cost reporting.
  6. Performing balance sheet reconciliations.
  7. Contributing to the development of standardized finance processes across UK & Europe.
  8. Supporting external and internal audits with documentation.
  9. Providing resource support to other business areas as needed.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Qualified accountant at AAT level or final ACCA/CIMA.
  • Experience in a similar role and SAP FICO systems.
  • Positive outlook, proactive attitude, team-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills and relationship-building ability in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
