Job summary

Oxford Brookes University is seeking a Research Outputs Manager to oversee the institution's repository services and ensure compliant open access for research outputs, aligned with REF and funder mandates. The role is based at Headington campus with hybrid working options.

The successful candidate will manage workflows, interpret copyright/licensing and data privacy, and collaborate with research and IT teams to deliver an integrated support service.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting academics/researchers with managing research outputs.
• Experience supporting open research policy and practice.
• Experience working with a research repository and/or CRIS.
• Knowledge of scholarly publishing landscape, metadata standards, identifiers and tools.
• Understanding of copyright, licensing, and data privacy in relation to open research.
• Ability to analyze problems, generate options and evaluate choices.
• Ability to meet operational plans with clear targets and collaborative team input.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop Oxford Brookes' institutional repository service, including deposit, organisation, description, preservation and discoverability of outputs.
• Validate outputs uploaded via CRIS and submission processes; ensure open access per policies and funder mandates.
• Provide expertise on copyright, licensing and data privacy related to outputs and open access.
• Provide line management to the Library Assistant (Open Research) and set objectives.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver an integrated research support service.
• Monitor developments in repositories and open research to enhance services.
