How you'll make a difference

This role involves designing and implementing payments technology solutions for our Open Banking services. You'll collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, and other architects, to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture. Your responsibilities include evaluating new technologies, recommending adoption strategies, and integrating them securely, reliably, and scalably into existing systems. You will partner with a product owner, delivery lead, and technical lead in a Scaled Agile environment to deliver high-quality payments solutions.

What you'll bring

• Strong communication and presentation skills with stakeholders and decision-making capabilities.
• Senior Solution Architecture experience, specifically in Open Banking.
• Knowledge of the latest National Payments Vision publication and its implications for Open Banking.
• Experience with FPS, CHAPS, and Cross Border payments is preferred.
• Design experience in payments solutions covering fraud, sanctions screening, case management, data assurance, and SaaS integration.
• Understanding of security design principles (CIAM, mTLS, encryption, digital signing).
• Familiarity with Open Banking and UK payments regulation.
• Cloud architecture experience, preferably AWS Solution Architect certified; Azure experience is a plus.
• Experience designing event-driven microservices architecture.
