The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) supports the Police and Crime Commissioner serving Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The OPCC provides a link between Hampshire & Isle Wight Constabulary (HIOWC) and the communities they serve through setting the budget and holding the Chief Constable to account in the delivery of an efficient and effective service.

The main function of the OPCC’s Facilities Management (FM) team is to maintain all Police estates across the county, keeping them safe and fit for purpose. The western FM team are currently recruiting for a new Senior Facilities Officer, to deliver day to day planned and reactive maintenance of estates.

About the Role

The western FM team cover the west of Hampshire, from Romsey, down to Southampton, and across to the New Forest and Lyndhurst. As a Senior Facilities Officer, you will support a team of Facilities Officers to complete required maintenance jobs, providing mentoring and training where required. There will be no direct line management responsibilities.

You will be required to review jobs on the computer assisted facilities management (CAFM) system and allocate them to Facilities Officers, or where necessary, send them to external contractors for completion. Where contractors are required, you will be responsible for supervising them whilst on site and ensuring they work in line with regulations. There will also be a requirement for you to undertake general building maintenance activities when necessary.

Reporting into the Assistant Facilities Manager (AFM), you will be expected to deputise for them during periods of planned or unplanned absence.

The home base of this role is Southampton Central Police Station. However, there is the requirement for the role holder to travel across the western area in a company provided van. There is no scope for home working.
