Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Forth Valley Royal Hospital for an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse to join the OPAT nursing team.

The OPAT Team provide specialist services to adult patients with a range of complex infection related conditions on an Ambulatory and Hospital at home pathway.

Whilst patients are predominantly seen through our Ambulatory service based in our Day Medical Unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, we are expanding our service to include the ability to see more patients at home, providing hospital-level care for these patients with complex infection related conditions in their own home supported by the Hospital @ Home team.

Staff will be supported by the current OPAT and Hospital @ Home team and will work flexibility to provide service delivery to both teams on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist nursing care to adult patients with complex infection related conditions on an ambulatory and hospital at home pathway.
  • Work collaboratively across professional and organisational boundaries in partnership with acute care nursing, medical staff and allied health professionals.
  • Prioritise fluctuating workloads and remain focused in an extremely busy environment.
  • Travel throughout the area of service delivery as required.
Qualifications
  • Post registration experience enabling confident and competent provision of care required to safely manage patients with complex infections in either setting.
  • Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team and across boundaries in partnership with other acute care nursing, medical staff and allied health professionals.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
