Job summary

CVS Group is seeking an experienced OOH veterinarian to lead medical and surgical cases, perform diagnostics and manage an overnight caseload with professional judgement. The role supports a developing service with a patient-focused approach and strong teamwork.

You will work alongside vets and nurses, including ECC, ophthalmology and imaging specialists; the rota is 7 nights on, 14 nights off, with flexible arrangements for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• An experienced small animal vet with confidence in OOH, emergency or critical-care practice.
• Ability to lead medical and surgical cases independently.
• Good communicator who supports nursing colleagues and team.

We are looking for an experienced OOH vet who is confident leading medical and surgical cases, carrying out diagnostic investigations and taking ownership of a varied overnight caseload. You will have space to use your professional judgement, work cases through from presentation to outcome and help shape a developing service where good ideas are welcomed. Close working relationships with our daytime practices support smooth handovers, continuity for patients and a genuine sense of belonging to the wider hospital team. Johannah brings five years of dedicated OOH experience and is currently completing her ECC Certificate. She is passionate about emergency and critical care, enjoys sharing knowledge and is always open to ideas that could make the service better. Away from work, she enjoys running, CrossFit and travelling. Clare is a highly experienced veterinary nurse with an extensive background in emergency and referral practice in the UK and internationally. She brings calm capability to the team and, outside work, enjoys travelling in her campervan and cycling. You will be trusted to use your experience and professional judgement, with a team around you that communicates openly and respects different perspectives. We actively invite suggestions, share best practice and keep improving together, so your voice will be heard rather than lost in the background.
