Job summary

inspiring vet care is seeking an enthusiastic OOH Veterinary Care Assistant to join Hamilton Specialist Referrals, a 24-hour veterinary hospital near High Wycombe. The role is part time and permanent; you’ll support the clinical team with patient handling, restraint, kennels, lab tasks, theatre support and instrument sterilisation, contributing to safe, high‑quality care for cats and dogs.

You’ll work 34 hours weekly across shifts, with a team‑oriented culture, ongoing development opportunities

Qualifications

• Teamwork and cooperative mindset in a clinical setting.
• Clear communication with colleagues and clients.
• Good organisational skills to handle busy daily tasks.
• Proactive learner open to feedback and development.
• Experience caring for animals in clinical or non-clinical settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient restraint and nursing care, maintain kennels and cleanliness.
• Conduct laboratory tasks and process lab samples.
• Support theatre operations and assist with procedures.
• Oversee dispensing duties and ensure safe handling of instruments.
• Maintain equipment, sterilise instruments, and close theatre procedures.
• Provide general patient care and maintain clean clinical areas.
