Job summary

Wear Referrals is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) for a Twilight position at our County Durham hospital. The role involves bridging daytime referral services with Out of Hours care, supporting ICU, surgery, anesthesia, and critical care across a busy caseload.

You will work 2pm–2am on a rolling rota, with mentorship and career development supported by a large team of nurses and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified RVN.
• Minimum of 1 year's post-qualification experience is preferred.
• Twilight shifts require flexibility and strong clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting late-running procedures across all disciplines, including surgical and medical cases.
• Assisting clinicians with anaesthesia, diagnostics, recovery and ongoing patient treatment.
• Providing nursing care and monitoring for complex referral patients throughout their hospital stay.
• Transitioning to support the Out of Hours and Night teams after day procedures.
• Assisting with emergency patient admissions and Out of Hours telephone triage as required.
• Working primarily within ICU to assist with emergency admissions, urgent procedures and critically ill patients.
