Job summary

Bilfinger UK is seeking a Welding Engineer to join the Hinkley Point C project on site, Monday to Friday, 40 hours. The role provides technical oversight for all welding activities related to pipework installation and ensures operations comply with approved Welding Procedure Specifications.

You will support welding supervisors, inspectors, and site teams, review drawings and welding requirements, and assist in developing WPS and PQR, while maintaining records and contributing to QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for welding activities related to pipework installation.
• Ensure welding operations are performed in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to welding supervisors, inspectors, and site teams.
• Support the resolution of welding-related technical issues during construction.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, weld maps, and welding requirements.
• Attend training and education events to understand the latest developments in welding for the project.
• Maintain records of approved welding procedures and ensure correct on-site implementation.
• Implement new welding technologies to improve production.
• Monitor weld quality performance and defect trends.
• Work closely with QA/QC inspectors to ensure proper inspection and testing of welds.
• Provide welding engineering support to construction teams during installation activities.
• Ensure welding operations are integrated with construction sequencing and site operations.
