Onsite Welding Engineer — Major Project Construction

Job summary

Bilfinger UK Limited is seeking a Welding Engineer to join the Hinkley Point C project on a permanent basis. The role is on-site, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, providing technical oversight of welding activities across the construction site.

You will develop and review welding procedures, support PWHT and qualification testing, and work closely with construction, QA/QC inspectors and project teams to ensure compliance with codes and project standards.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and approving welding procedures.
• Knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and QA/QC practices.
• Ability to interpret weld maps and drawings and apply welding requirements.
• Strong collaboration with construction, QA/QC inspectors and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for welding activities across site.
• Ensure welding is performed per WPS and project specs.
• Guide welding supervisors and inspectors on technical matters.
• Coordinate PWHT and material qualification testing where required.
• Maintain records of welding procedures, tests and traceability.
• Support implementation of new welding technologies to improve production.
