Job summary

CNC Recruitment Limited is seeking experienced Pipefitters for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project. The role requires reading drawings, selecting and cutting pipework, and preparing for welding on site at HPC.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of site experience and holds an Approved Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting, plus a valid Site Safety Passport. Site-based role with a pay rate of 28.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Approved Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years' relevant site experience.
• Desirable: petrochemical, nuclear, industrial or major construction site experience.
• Valid Site Safety Passport required.
• Able to read and work from engineering drawings and pipework specifications.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and pipework requirements.
• Selecting, measuring and cutting stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy, iron, copper, aluminium and plastic pipework to the required dimensions.
• Preparing, positioning and aligning pipework and flanges for welding, ensuring correct orientation and gaps.
• Preparing pipework and components for welding and checking fit-up prior to welding.
• Bending pipework using appropriate machinery, heating equipment or manual methods.
• Joining metal pipework by soldering, threading or screwing.
• Joining plastic pipework by cementing or heat fusion where required.
• Forming pipework from sheet metal where required.
• Inspecting pipe preparations, tack welds, alignment and dimensional accuracy.
• Installing prefabricated pipework sections safely on site.
• Operating trade machinery and workshop equipment with proper training.
• Carrying out safety checks on tools, equipment and machinery.
• Following health and safety procedures on HPC sites.
