Job summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an onsite-based Pharmacy Technician due to company growth and expansion to work full-time within one of our practices in Richmond, Surrey. This role is suitable for highly motivated and focused Pharmacy Technicians, responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day activities within general practice, and providing clinical support and advice to patients, focusing on best practices and safety guidelines.

Full-time hours are within the core opening hours of the GP practice.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will act confidently within professional standards and boundaries, supporting and working alongside your General Practice team as well as Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians within TPN. You will help resolve medication-related queries, work as part of a multidisciplinary team, improve patient outcomes, and support increased access to healthcare.

Job responsibilities
  • Medication reconciliations using clinical letters and post-hospital discharge summaries
  • Medicine management including prescription screening and processing
  • Responding to and communicating with patients regarding medication queries
  • Communicating with local pharmacies about stock issues and shortages
  • Medication synchronization with regular repeat prescriptions
  • Monitoring recalls (e.g., BP, blood tests, annual reviews)
  • Conducting prescribing audits in line with CQC/QOF targets (training provided)
  • High-risk drug monitoring
  • Standard/annual medication monitoring
