Job summary

AWE plc is recruiting a Material Specialist to oversee material management across warehousing, inventory, asset and stock control in accordance with Material Control policy, standards and procedures. You will work fully onsite within a Logistics environment, leading operations staff and supporting a 9-day working fortnight with every other Friday off.

You will conduct data analytics, participate in annual stock audits, and maintain accurate records and dashboards to support programme readiness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee material management across warehousing, inventory, asset and stock control.
• Lead operations staff to ensure tasks follow plan and standards.
• Deliver stand up accountability meetings to maintain focus.
• Record management of all inventory stock across business areas.
• Participate in annual stock audits.
• Conduct data analytics across systems for asset accuracy.
• Perform cycle count and update electronic records for audits.
• Create metrics dashboards for performance reporting.
• Maintain SharePoint site ownership and GDPR compliance.
• Manage logistics tasks including picking, packing, and distribution.
• Operate logistics equipment as required (e.g., forklift, handling equipment).
• Support calibration, rotation, and end-of-service checks.
• Organise materials for delivery, including FIFO location.
• Assist with movement of dangerous goods and explosives where applicable.
• Issue material with proper documentation.
• Maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Use warehouse IT systems for stock management.
