Onsite/Hybrid Pharmacy Support Technician - Durham

Seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a permanent onsite role in Durham. Must have GP practice experience and proficiency in EMIS/S1 systems. Short notice period desirable.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will confidently act within professional standards and boundaries, supporting and working alongside your General Practice team, Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Technicians within TPN.

You will help resolve medication-related queries, work as part of a multidisciplinary team, improve patient outcomes, and support the improvement of access to healthcare.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Hybrid-based Pharmacy Technician due to company growth and expansion, working full-time across one of our many PCN contracts in the UK. This role is suitable for highly motivated and focused Pharmacy Technicians responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day activities within general practice, splitting time between onsite and remote work. The work pattern can be negotiated.

Full-time hours are within the core opening hours of the GP practice.

  • Perform medication reconciliations using clinical letters and post-hospital discharge summaries.
  • Manage medicines, including prescription screening and processing.
  • Respond to medication queries from patients.
  • Coordinate with local pharmacies regarding stock issues and shortages.
  • Implement medication synchronization for repeat prescriptions.
  • Conduct medication monitoring recalls (e.g., BP, blood tests, annual reviews).
  • Participate in prescribing audits aligned with CQC/QOF targets (training available).
  • Conduct standard and annual medication monitoring.
  • Follow shared care protocols.
  • Act on medicines safety alerts from CAS/MHRA/ICB.
  • Perform Level 1 and 2 medication reviews (training available).
  • Assist with Pre-SMR (Structured Medication Review) screening (training available).
