Job summary

Riverside Garden Centre is seeking a proactive HR Adviser to be our on-site HR lead. This standalone role offers scope to shape and develop the HR function as we grow, handling day-to-day operations and supporting employees through the full lifecycle.

You'll work closely with Directors and our outsourced HR partner on complex matters, with variety, autonomy, and the chance to implement robust HR processes that make a real difference for the business.

Qualifications

• Experience handling day-to-day HR operations.
• Evidence of managing employee relations issues.
• Experience with payroll coordination.

Responsibilities

• Manage HR administration and maintain HRIS records.
• Track sickness, annual leave and conduct return-to-work meetings.
• Prepare monthly payroll variables and liaise with Payroll Manager.
• Coordinate onboarding, welcome packs and first-week inductions.
• Act as first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries.
• Handle minor employee relations issues and escalate when needed.
• Support internal communications, engagement activities and team events.
