Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Facilities Management Technician for on-site work at Ashchurch, near Tewkesbury. You will maintain buildings, infrastructure, and essential systems to support defence and security programmes, with a focus on safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Working hours are 37 per week, 8:00am–4:30pm, on-site with some flexibility. The role offers a competitive salary plus benefits and opportunities to develop skills within a leading defence and engineering business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facilities or building maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation (COSHH, LOLER, PUWER).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues across multiple systems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• IT literacy for using maintenance management systems (CAFM).
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance across building fabric, mechanical, electrical, and safety systems.
• Respond to reactive maintenance issues, diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• Support statutory inspections and logging documentation.
• First-line repairs and minor works to maintain facilities.
• Coordinate on-site external contractors and ensure safety and compliance.
