Job description

We are recruiting BTEC Examiners for the following sectors:

• Business
• Engineering
• ICT
• Performing Arts
• Sport

We are also actively recruiting BTEC Onscreen Examiners across sectors who can verify responses in Welsh.

Purpose

An Onscreen Examiner marks candidates' responses according to the pre-defined mark scheme, adhering to the Code of Practice and examination procedures. Marking is done onscreen using ePEN, which can be accessed from home. A high level of subject knowledge is essential. Each examiner will be allocated a set number of scripts.

Responsibilities

1. Mark accurately and consistently to maintain standards.
2. Submit samples to your Team Leader as scheduled.
3. Meet marking milestones.
4. Complete all required administration.

Experience and Qualifications

• At least one academic year's teaching experience within the last 8 years, relevant to the subject and level, since qualifying as a teacher.
• A degree or equivalent qualification.
• Qualified teacher status.

Competencies

• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• High subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme effectively.
