Online Tutor (ESL) – Cosmo

Teach online at Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premier online learning platform that connects K‑12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalized lessons. As a tutor you will set a flexible and consistent schedule. For this role you’ll teach ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced educators wanting to connect with students after school. You will meet your students weekly for 50‑minute 1‑on‑1 lessons, creating a welcoming and fun learning environment. Reliability and professionalism are key – arrive well prepared, on time, and with a passionate, kind demeanor.

Pay rate: $20 USD per class plus additional incentives.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1‑on‑1 instruction for your students
• Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student’s age and ability
• Submit class feedback after each lesson
• Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner
• Attend all classes on time in a professional setting
• Communicate with Cosmo staff as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 years of experience teaching grades K‑12 in ELA
• Experience with K‑12 ELA standards and curriculum
• Experience teaching ESL learners
• Teaching qualification preferred but not required
• Fast and reliable internet connection and access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000
• Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of teaching with Cosmo 1:1
• Available between 8‑2 PM GMT Monday through Friday or 5 AM – 2 PM GMT on weekends
• Minimum of 20 hours of availability on a weekly basis
• Access to a private and quiet location
• Passion for helping students learn
• Currently located in the UK
