Overview

Online Vehicle Master Technician — Nottingham (office based)

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience (between £42,000–£45,000) rising to £55,000

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am – 5:15 pm (42.5 hours). No weekends.

About the role

This role is for a master technician who wants to move off the tools into a family owned business that values its staff and is based in the Nottingham area. The company provides automotive virtual diagnostic and programming services to a customer base across Europe. Daily duties include in-depth diagnosis, module programming, key programming, staying informed on the latest procedures, and a passion for future technology in the motor trade.

Responsibilities
  1. Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using the company’s diagnostic tools through the remote diagnostic portal.
  2. Provide technical support and repair advice to customers and their technicians via chat, email, or phone.
  3. Interpret diagnostic codes and data and recommend corrective actions to ensure a fix on the first contact.
  4. Maintain equipment and software updates, and continuously learn new techniques and tools.
  5. Work collaboratively with team members, sharing insights and best practices.
  6. Maintain accurate records of diagnostic procedures and outcomes.
  7. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service quality.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an auto mechanic using diagnostics.
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent highly preferred.
  • PSA / Stellantis background would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electronics, and electrical components of vehicles.
  • Proficient in using automotive diagnostic software and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player with a solution-oriented approach.
