Job summary

Asda is seeking an Online Grocery Trader to own the onsite trade, content execution and enrichment for a specific product area within the Digital Trading team. You will respond to the fast-paced online grocery environment to deliver the business strategy and drive online sales and profit.

You'll work with ecommerce and commercial teams, report weekly sales and web metrics, merchandise the website for easy shopping, and collaborate with suppliers to run key sales initiatives.

As an Online Grocery Trader you will be responsible for the onsite trade, execution and enrichment of content for a specific product areas within your business unit. You will need to react to the fast-paced nature of Online Grocery to ensure our customers receive an optimal shopping experience online, delivering the business strategy with a clear focus on driving the online sales and profit plan for your business unit.

What You'll Be Doing

• Work alongside ecommerce and commercial teams to support the trade plan (Trading, Activity & Proposition, Campaigns, eCommerce Data, Future, Q-Comm, CRM, Online Ops etc)
• Reporting of weekly sales and web metrics performance and delivery of sales driving actions to trade the website and deliver against sales and profit plan.
• Merchandise the website to ensure ease of shop and optimal customer journey through search, taxonomy, favourites and other website space.
• Promo and range change merchandising, optimisation and performance review.
• Collaborating with suppliers to manage relationships and drive key sales initiatives.
• Being the face of Online for the trading and commercial teams, collaborating and supporting on all online queries.
• Owning lead projects across total Online Grocery to support the wider team.
• Supporting on coaching internal and external team members on Online Grocery ways of working.
• Supporting Online Grocery Trading Assistants with range chasers, taxonomy placements and supplier requests.
• Navigating through change to Ocado platform in 2027.

About You

• Buying, merchandising or eComm experience preferred but not essential.
• Analytical and data driven, skilled in using data to make informed decisions and optimise results.
• Ability to work in the fast-paced online grocery space, dealing with changing market influences and trends.
• Experience in interpreting and communicating both commercial and web analytics data.
• Be a strong communicator with great personal skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.
• A customer-centric approach to online retailing, working closely with the commercial strategies.
• Experience with CMS, Web Analytics tools and Sales Reporting tools preferred but not essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
