Role Overview
The BIT Collective is looking for a motivated, organised individual to help deliver our online events programme. This entry-level freelance role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in Scotland’s arts or music sectors. You’ll be mentored by experienced producers and board members, with support to develop skills in event delivery, digital communications, and community-building.

We’re not looking for tons of experience—we’re looking for reliability, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in creating inclusive online spaces for folk and traditional arts.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of 3–4 online events per year
- Liaise with speakers, guests, and participants via email or video call
- Assist with setting up online platforms (Zoom etc.—training provided)
- Help gather and share basic post-event feedback
- Join monthly online team check-ins
- Ensure events centre accessibility, community care, and inclusion
- Manage event budgets

What You’ll Learn
- How to run inclusive events in a professional arts setting
- Basics of digital communications and event logistics
- Insight into the traditional music sector
- Experience working with a team committed to social change

What We’re Looking For
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Interest in folk/traditional music and/or community arts
- Familiarity with email, Zoom, Google Docs (or willingness to learn)
- Commitment to inclusive, safe creative spaces
- We strongly encourage applications from people underrepresented in the arts, including people of colour, disabled people, LGBTQIA+ folks, and those from working-class backgrounds.
- Previous experience in volunteering, performing, producing, or supporting community events is welcome but not essential. Interest in feminist, anti-racist, or EDI work is a plus.

This is a chance to gain hands-on experience with full support, mentoring, and room to grow.
