Job summary

Oak Grove College is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a student with complex medical needs. You will help with learning activities, personal care, and emotional support, under the guidance of our Special Schools Nursing Team and experienced staff.

The role requires patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to promoting independence, communication, and confidence in the student while working as part of a wider college team.

Qualifications

• Ability to build a positive, trusting relationship with a student receiving 1:1 support.
• Use a range of communication approaches to meet individual needs.
• Willingness to provide personal care when required.
• Experience of or openness to supporting individuals with complex/additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a student with complex medical needs.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Support participation and engagement in lessons and activities.
• Collaborate with the Special Schools Nursing Team and college staff to ensure consistent care.

Weare looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with abright, bubbly and engaging student with complex medical needs. This is arewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and whowants to make a genuine difference to a young person's learning, confidence andindependence.

Therole will involve supporting the student's individual medical and personal careneeds. You will receive high-quality guidance, training and ongoing supportfrom the Special Schools Nursing Team, alongside support from our experiencedstaff team.
