Job summary

Qualiteach Education Group Ltd is seeking a dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant in Lewisham to support a pupil with ASD and ADHD. This full-time role starts ASAP in a welcoming primary school.

You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored 1:1 support, help with routines, and foster communication and emotional regulation, both inside and outside the classroom. Experience with ASD/ADHD is highly desirable; a patient, proactive approach is essential to help the pupil access

The Position - One-to-One Teaching Assistant

A welcoming primary school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated, patient and supportive One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored one-to-one support to a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The successful candidate will have a good understanding of neurodiverse needs and be confident in adapting their approach to help the child access learning, develop independence and feel comfortable within the school environment. Experience supporting children with ASD and ADHD is highly desirable. You will support the child both inside and outside the classroom, helping them engage with lessons, participate in activities, manage transitions and follow daily routines. You will also help the child develop their communication, social interaction and emotional regulation skills, using appropriate strategies to encourage positive engagement and learning. The ideal candidate will be patient, compassionate and proactive, with the ability to build a trusting relationship with the child. You should be confident in using structured routines, clear communication, positive reinforcement and individualised support strategies to meet the child's needs.
