Job summary

Educato Limited in Rochdale is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join a welcoming school on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. The role involves providing focused 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs and helping them access lessons.

You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO, adapt learning approaches, support emotional regulation, and monitor progress and wellbeing. The position offers ongoing CPD, safeguarding training, long-term opportunities, and potential

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
  • Experience in 1:1 support within educational or care settings.
  • Patient, caring and nurturing approach.
  • Confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, proactive and resilient.
  • Right to work in the UK and full-time availability.
  • SEN-related qualifications (desirable).
  • Experience or training in autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other needs (desirable).

Responsibilities

A welcoming and supportive school in Rochdale is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the successful candidate the chance to secure a permanent position within the school.

  • Be able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be reliable, proactive and resilient
  • Have the right to work in the UK and full-time availability
  • SEN-related qualifications or Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (desirable)
  • Experience or training in autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs or other additional needs (desirable)
