Are you passionate about empowering students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) to thrive in higher education?

We're currently recruiting enthusiastic Specialist Study Skills Tutors to provide one-on-one support for university students in Aberdeen. This is a hybrid role - with a mix of in-person and online sessions - based on what works best for each student.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic journey of each student you support.

What you'll be doing:

As a Study Skills Tutor, you will provide tailored academic support, helping students:

* Create practical and personalised learning strategies

* Boost their confidence and independent learning skills

* Improve organisation, time management, and study planning

* Develop effective research, comprehension, and writing techniques

* Build sustainable academic habits to support long-term success

* As a teacher, have you assisted students with Autism? This experience would be a significant advantage.

What we're looking for:

Essential:

* Experience in teaching, tutoring, or working closely with students with learning differences

* Strong understanding of learning barriers related to SpLDs

* A proactive, student-centred approach and clear communication style

Professional memberships (one of the following is required):

* PATOSS

* BDA

* ADSHE

* The Dyslexia Guild

The ideal candidate will have:

* Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence

* Ability to tailor support to individual student needs

* Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities

* Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism

* Confidence in managing a flexible caseload
