Job summary

Outwood Academy Hemsworth, part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, seeks a One to One Tutor to support individual students with targeted interventions. The casual role offers 9 hours per week across Monday, Thursday and Friday, at £37.03 per hour, starting as soon as possible.

You will plan and deliver personalised lessons, report progress to Heads of Department, assist with exam revision and uphold safeguarding standards within the academy’s inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Graduate or AS/A2 level in a relevant subject or be a qualified teacher.
• Excellent communication and listening skills, alongside strong time management and organisational abilities.
• Essential ability to support students with English work up to GCSE level and basic computer software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and deliver intervention programmes for individual students.
• Report on pupil progress and liaise with Head of Department and teachers.
• Support exam revision sessions and adhere to safeguarding procedures.
• Develop suitable intervention materials, lesson plans and resources.

This vital role involves delivering intervention programmes , encouraging academic growth , and positively promoting the inclusive ethos of the Academy.

The current allocation of hours is as below

Monday - 3 hours

Thursday - 3 hours

Friday - 3 hours

The One to One Tutor will deliver intervention programmes to individuals , working with department staff to prepare and implement appropriate learning experiences. A core duty is to assist in developing suitable intervention material, lesson plans, and resources.

You will be responsible for reporting on individual pupil progress and regularly liaising with the Head of Department and teachers to provide feedback. Furthermore, you will support exam revision sessions and must comply with Child Safeguarding Procedures at all times.

We require a Graduate in a related subject or an AS/A2 level in a relevant subject or be a qualified teacher. You must possess excellent communication and listening skills, alongside strong time management and organisational skills.

Essential abilities include supporting students with English work up to GCSE level and having a working knowledge of standard computer packages. Experience of working in a school environment is desirable.
