Job summary

Outwood Academy Easingwold is seeking a One to One Tutor to support English students at Key Stage 3 and GCSE. The role operates within a strong department led by an experienced Head of Department, focusing on identifying gaps and delivering targeted interventions.

Salary

£18.72 (UN1) to £37.03 (MPS6) per hour, dependant upon qualifications (£37.03 QTS, £36.67 Relevant Degree but no QTS, £18.72 no degree and no QTS)

Working Hours

Starting on 14 hours per week, however, the hours are variable due to the position being on a casual, ad-hoc basis.

One to One Tutor

You will be joining a strong department with a wealth of experience in teaching English at Key Stage 3 and GCSE. The department is led by our experienced Head of Department, with a vision to succeed. Our results are exceptionally high. This comes through both expert quality first teaching but also swift identification of gaps in knowledge and that is where our 1:1 provision really makes the difference.

You don't need to be a qualified teacher! Maybe you have just graduated, gained a degree and are wanting to see if teaching is for you? a fully qualified Teacher with QTS wanting ad hoc hours? either way we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

The One to One Tutor will deliver intervention programmes to individuals , working with department staff to prepare and implement appropriate learning experiences. A core duty is to assist in developing suitable intervention material, lesson plans, and resources.

You will be responsible for reporting on individual pupil progress and regularly liaising with the Head of Department and teachers to provide feedback. Furthermore, you will support exam revision sessions and must comply with Child Safeguarding Procedures at all times.

Qualifications

We require a Graduate in a related subject or an AS/A2 level in a relevant subject or be a qualified teacher. You must possess excellent communication and listening skills, alongside strong time management and organisational skills.

Essential abilities include supporting students with science work up to GCSE level and having a working knowledge of standard computer packages. Experience of working in a school environment is desirable.
