Job summary

Barnsbury Primary School and Nursery is seeking a dedicated support assistant to work closely with the class teacher and Inclusion Leader. You will provide one-to-one academic and emotional support, with opportunities for paired or small group work, and general classroom assistance including lunch supervision.

The role follows a Monday to Friday 8:30am–3:00pm schedule. A nurturing approach, patience, and teamwork are essential to help children feel safe, happy, and able to grow within the school

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a positive, patient, and nurturing approach towards children.
• Be confident, able to work one to one and deal with challenging situations.
• Contribute fully to school life and work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide additional academic and emotional support for an individual child on a one-to-one basis.
• May work in paired or small groups, both in and out of the classroom.
• Carry out general classroom support duties and supervise lunchtimes.
