Job Description

We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. You will work in a fast-paced retail environment, providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and maintaining the store’s appearance.

As the customer is central to our operations, you will strive to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.

You will be Responsible For
  1. Serving customers with passion and pride, delivering natural, friendly service.
  2. Encouraging customer feedback via the ‘have your say’ survey.
  3. Working across all store areas, including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines.
  4. Practicing safety procedures learned during training.
  5. Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events to foster an inclusive atmosphere.
  6. Understanding store performance and contributing to profit targets.
  7. Living our values, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
  8. Clocking in and out accurately to ensure correct payment.
  9. Following security procedures and wearing safety equipment.
  10. Adhering to the ‘think 25’ policy when serving age-restricted products.
  11. Responding promptly to assistance calls or interventions at self-service checkouts, explaining actions clearly to customers.
  12. Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized store environment.
  13. Potentially managing shifts in the absence of a Shift Leader or Store Manager.
  14. Following all safety and legal training to ensure safety for all.

Note: If the store has a Post Office Local, duties will include managing daily operations of the post office, requiring a background check which must be passed to proceed with this role. Failure to pass may result in withdrawal of the job offer.
