Job Description

We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same.

You will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of our store by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and helping maintain the store’s appearance.

Since the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will constantly seek ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback.

With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.

You will be Responsible For
  • Serving customers with passion and pride, providing natural and great service.
  • Encouraging customer feedback through the ‘have your say’ survey.
  • Working across all store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines to meet customer needs.
  • Applying training to ensure safety at work.
  • Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Understanding store performance and your role in delivering profit.
  • Living our values, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
  • Clocking in and out accurately to ensure correct payment.
  • Following security procedures and wearing safety equipment to keep everyone safe.
  • Adhering to the think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
  • Responding promptly to assistance calls or checkout interventions, explaining actions to customers.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized store environment.
  • Occasionally managing the shift in the absence of your Shift Leader or Store Manager.
  • Following all training to ensure safety and legal compliance.
  • If applicable, for stores with a Post Office Local, duties include managing daily operations and passing necessary background checks for the Post Office role. Failure to pass these checks will result in withdrawal of the job offer.
