Job description

We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same.

You will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of our store by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and helping maintain the store’s appearance.

Since the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will constantly seek ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback.

With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serving customers with passion and pride, providing natural, friendly service.
  • Encouraging customer feedback through surveys.
  • Working across all store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines to meet customer needs.
  • Applying training to ensure safe working practices.
  • Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Understanding store performance and contributing to profit delivery.
  • Living our values, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
  • Clocking in and out at shifts to ensure accurate payment.
  • Following security procedures and wearing safety equipment.
  • Adhering to the 'think 25' policy when serving age-restricted products.
  • Responding promptly to assistance calls, explaining actions to customers.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized store environment.
  • Potentially managing shifts in the absence of a Shift Leader or Store Manager.
  • Following training to ensure safety and legal compliance.
  • If applicable, handling Post Office operations, including passing background checks.
