Job Description:

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Deputy Matron – Paediatrics at a reputable private hospital in South Kensington, London. The hospital offers treatment for both adults and children, committed to providing world-class care.

To be considered, you must be a qualified Registered Children’s Nurse with an active NMC Pin.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the ward/department, leading clinical staff, and assessing skills for safe, high-quality service delivery.
  • Identifying deficits and implementing improvement programmes.
  • Driving clinical care standards in collaboration with the matron.
  • Providing leadership and maintaining senior clinical presence.
  • Managing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
  • Promoting a positive change culture within nursing teams.
  • Assisting in financial management within budgets.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Significant clinical experience in medical settings.
  • Knowledge of NMC Codes and practice guidelines.
  • Management qualification or progress towards one.
  • Experience with clinical audits and training development.

The salary ranges from £55,000 to £61,780 annually. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with benefits including professional registration fees, holiday entitlement, health insurance, pension, bonus, travel support, discounts, onsite massages, and participation in annual awards.
