Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in Sutton is seeking a Band 7 0.6wte Oncology Counsellor/ Psychotherapist to join our exploratory psychological therapy pathway for cancer patients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team applying integrative, existential, person-centred and psychodynamic approaches.

You will provide supervision to nurses and AHPs, contribute to the psychological care of adult cancer patients, and participate in psychosocial meetings and clinics as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Must be BACP/UKCP accredited and eligible to practice.
• Experience in oncology, hospice, or other complex physical health settings is essential.
• Ability to provide supervision to nurses/AHPs within theTrust.
• Experience within an MDT for psych-oncology and working with existential, person-centred and psychodynamic approaches.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality counselling/psychotherapy to adult cancer patients within the Adult Psychological Support Service.
• Work within the exploratory pathway using existential/person-centred/psychodynamic/integrative therapies.
• Provide supervision to nurses and AHPs within the trust.
• Offer specialist psychological care advice in psychosocial meetings and MDT clinics as appropriate.
