Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive Pharmacy Assistant to join the cancer pharmacy team at Horton Hospital. The role suits someone with hospital or community pharmacy background, with training provided.

NVQ2 (QCF) or equivalent is required, and part-time/flexible working considered. Responsibilities include dispensing prescriptions, labelling, supporting oncology wards, and delivering high-quality pharmacy services to out-patients and day treatment patients.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in pharmaceutical sciences is required.
• Experience as a dispenser is desirable.
• Knowledge of stock management and dispensing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support to the dispensary workforce.
• Dispense inpatient, outpatient clinical trial and CD prescriptions.
• Assist with stock packing and transfers.
• Participate in training of students and ATOs.
• Dispenser duties and reception cover as required.
• Support ward-based medicines management and transfer of medicines between wards.
