Hybrid Oncology Pharmacists needed to start ASAP in Harlow, Essex !!

Trident Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Oncology Pharmacist to join our private client's dynamic team in Harlow, Essex. The successful candidate will support the Lead Oncology Pharmacist in overseeing daily Oncology operations, contributing to the training and development of the team, and ensuring the delivery of best practices. This role involves collaboration with the Oncology team to complete tasks safely and effectively.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Harlow, Essex

Days: Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote, office-based)

Hours: Monday - Friday (Flexible hours between 8am-8pm; condensed hours considered)

Salary: Up to £58,500 without BOPA, £60,000 with BOPA (Training provided for BOPA certification, salary increase upon completion)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Leadership and Support: Provide specialist advice and clinical leadership for patient care, including clinical verification of prescriptions according to GPhC & BOPA guidelines. Offer timely, expert clinical advice to medical and nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Operational Excellence: Support continuous improvement within Central Pharmacy operations by collaborating with external departments to ensure efficient and safe care. Help maintain an organized facility, ensure colleague training and assessment, and contribute to business projects and Key Value Drivers.
  • Onboarding and Training: Assist in onboarding new business and patients, develop new prescription templates, and create training materials. Provide operational and clinical training to ensure the team is well-prepared and knowledgeable.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with SOPs and best practices in prescription processing. Adhere to standards set by regulatory bodies, including RPSGB and GPhC. Participate in departmental audits and ensure operational processes comply with GMP and MHRA standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a GPhC-registered pharmacist, ideally with experience working in a hospital or home healthcare environment. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, a systematic approach, and a commitment to continuous professional development are essential.

Qualifications, Training & Experience:
  • Experience working on Oncology wards
  • Experience in clinically screening Oncology SACT prescriptions
  • Involvement in ordering chemotherapy
  • Proficiency in electronic prescribing systems for Oncology (e.g., iQemo)
  • Ideally, a postgraduate qualification in Oncology
  • Evidence of training with BOPA, such as the SACT Passport, is preferred
  • Experience in clinical decision-making
  • Experience in training and upskilling pharmacy team members
