Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic pharmacist to join the Pharmacy Chemotherapy and Technical Services Unit at Royal Blackburn Hospital. The role offers a guaranteed pathway from band 6 to band 7 with progression training and mentorship from a supportive team.

You will provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service for oncology and haematology, ensuring safe preparation and supply of chemotherapy medicines in line with national guidance and commissioning standards.

Qualifications

• MPharm degree and GPhC registration with NHS pharmacy practice.
• Postgraduate diploma in a relevant area and prescribing qualification.
• Experience in oncology/haematology pharmacy and aseptic work.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Oncology Pharmacist in clinical verification of chemotherapy prescriptions.
• Provide GMP-compliant aseptic preparation and dispensing of chemotherapy medicines.
• Develop and mentor junior staff rotating through chemotherapy and aseptic services.
• Lead and participate in training to ensure high quality, patient-centred service.
• Ensure safe systems of work and adherence to national guidance.
