Job summary

GenesisCare UK is seeking a Lead Pharmacist – Oncology/Haematology for our Bristol cancer care centre. You will lead the pharmacy service, provide expert clinical advice, and work with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities include managing the pharmacy team, screening SACT prescriptions, and contributing to treatment protocols and audits, ensuring governance and safety across the service.

Qualifications

• Qualified pharmacy professional with GPhC registration.
• Bachelor or masters in pharmacy (BSc/MPharm) and completed pre-registration training.
• Postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of the pharmacy department with a patient-focused medicines management service.
• Manage and support the centre's pharmacy team and ensure high standards of clinical practice.
• Provide specialist clinical pharmacy advice for oncology and haematology patients.
• Screen and validate SACT prescriptions using electronic prescribing systems.
• Oversee procurement, dispensing, stock management and final release of medicines.
• Contribute to treatment protocols, clinical audits and medicines management initiatives.
• Collaborate with consultants, chemotherapy nurses and multidisciplinary teams to support patient treatment.
• Ensure compliance with professional, regulatory and governance standards.
