Purpose of the role:
- Provide objective and timely Competitive Intelligence for clients’ marketed products and pipeline assets.
- Proactively and continuously monitor our clients’ competitive landscape using various public and private resources.
- Develop CI reports and alerts with analysis and insights.
- Conduct desktop research deep dives utilizing various data sources and databases.
- Translate competitive findings into insights and recommendations for our clients, leveraging vertical and horizontal logical frameworks.
- Solid understanding of US and EU pharma commercial, regulatory, and clinical domains.
- Required travel: Attend approximately 6 medical conferences per year. Understand the conference coverage objectives, write up session summaries, and create a post-conference report for clients.
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD or Master’s Degree in a scientific field, preferably with hands-on experience in molecular biology research.
- Strong knowledge of the oncology therapeutic area: 5+ years of competitive intelligence experience in Pharma, 2 of which should be in Oncology Diagnostics and Precision Medicine.
- Understanding of Oncology Diagnostics and related technology, including but not limited to NGS, PCR, mIHC, IF, Digital Pathology, and Radiology.
- Must understand the mechanisms of disease within oncology and understand the molecular basis of disease, including biomarkers, in oncology.
- Must be up to date with trends and developments in Oncology Precision Medicine and the key Diagnostic companies in the space.
- Must understand the key policies, regulatory, and reimbursement frameworks in the US and EU for developing and commercializing diagnostic assays and cDx.
- Comfortable communicating with diverse audiences who have various levels of knowledge, and possesses the ability to adjust communication styles to different clients/audiences.
- Natural curiosity about how things work and interest in developing into technical fields such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Prior experience with some programming languages (e.g. Python, Javascript, SQL) is a plus.
Desired Skills:
- Pharma experience: Hands-on experience with regulatory, medical, and commercial functions within the biotech and pharma industry.
- Experience using the following databases/websites: Citeline, Pharmatell, Alphasense, Clinical trial registries (US, EU, Canada, etc.), Regulatory websites (FDA, EMA, Health Canada, etc.).
- Deep understanding of the Oncology drug development process from pre-clinical to launch.
