A regional healthcare provider seeks a Clerical Support role in the Oncology Day Unit. Based in Hexham General Hospital, the position involves managing patient diaries, providing reception services, and supporting administrative tasks. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to provide clerical support on our Oncology Day Unit. The post will be based at Hexham General Hospital but the post holder will be expected to work across other sites within the Trust as required. The successful candidate will provide a reception service and act as the initial first point of contact for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals by telephone and face to face, and will coordinate the diary for patients receiving SACT treatment. The post holder should have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. During periods of staff sickness or annual leave, the post holder would be expected to cover at other units across the Trust. To support the Management Coordinator in providing high quality administrative/secretarial support to the Oncology Day Units to enable efficient running of the day units. This includes accessing IT systems such as Chemocare and PAS; full training and support will be provided.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital.
