Role / Department

NTAM International is the London based Asset Management division of Northern Trust covering investment relationships in UK, Europe Middle East and Asia Pacific. This role will be based in London and responsible for all operational tasks associated with client onboardings and transitions events.

Duties

You will be responsible for the operations coordination for client onboardings, ongoing client account maintenance, client operational flows, and transition events within investment management. Tasks include but not limited to record keeping, producing reports, overseeing processing of client subscription / redemptions, coordinating the third-party asset servicing team, ensures system information is entered and maintained correctly, monitors trust operations and accounting activities to ensure that all necessary reports, clients fee billing, documents, tickets, etc. are processed to facilitate client services.

You will facilitate operations delivery of client services and transition events working directly with Internal NTAM teams, external parties and NTAM clients by demonstrating excellent communication skills. You will join the Onboarding Operations team and work on the operational setup of clients, accounts, and funds, and ad-hoc events which include but not be limited to new business/clients, fund launches/closures/restructures, lost business/ clients, custodian changes, new market set-up’s, static data changes and migration projects, in specie transitions, subscriptions/redemptions, and trade flows.

You will operate under general supervision but work independently most of the time. You will also serve on large/complex and small/non-complex projects and activities, and be technically competent to act as first point of reference for day-to-day queries, and serves as a liaison to related areas.

Skills / Knowledge

  • A number of years’ experience in a similar operations role with proven track record of working with static data and operation teams
  • Operational knowledge of Unit Trusts, Asset Management, Custodians, end to end lifecycle of a subscription, client fee billing, client reporting, transition events would be useful related experience
  • Thorough understanding of Operations functions, life cycle of a trade, and responsibilities
  • Product knowledge of pooled funds including end to end process flow of a subscription or redemption
  • Proven understanding of asset management terminology and familiarity with investments instruments is essential
  • Proven ability to quickly understand new systems. Both in-house and market data providers
  • An investment curiosity with a willingness to learn
  • Focuses on maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures in the function, building towards becoming an area expert.
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, consultative, communication and judgment skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills are absolutely essential
  • Ability to prioritise multiple work streams and meet tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated, able to think ahead and schedule tasks in good order
  • Determination to identify and follow issues through to resolution
  • Adaptability to changing environments, identifying and implementing process improvements.
