As our customer numbers grow, we’re expanding our operations team to support - and Antony, our Escalations Support Manager, is hiring our very first Onboarding Operations Associate to help us with all things onboarding at Yonder.

This role will be at the heart of onboarding, KYC, and AML controls at Yonder: key responsibilities will include resolving complex onboarding issues and safeguarding against financial crime. Along with the Escalations Support team, you’ll work closely with Lauren and Theso in our Financial Crime and Risk team, and your role will be pivotal in maintaining trust with our members by handling financial processes with precision and care.

What You’ll Do

  • Unstick complex onboarding journeys: You’ll be Yonder’s in-house onboarding expert, and will be the first to notice bugs in the onboarding journey or when things don’t look quite right. You’ll jump in when new customer onboarding gets tricky, and support members who need a more tailored onboarding experience.
  • Underwrite with care and precision: You’ll carry out structured manual underwriting, making careful, risk-informed decisions about new user onboarding.
  • Fight financial crime: You’ll run PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screenings at onboarding and throughout the lifecycle, helping us stay compliant and protect both our business and our community. Where appropriate, you’ll conduct Enhanced Due Diligence on our members to verify income and source of funds.
  • Own the credit file journey: Sometimes customers might need changes or have disputes about information on their credit files, at the point of application or after they’ve been on book for awhile. You’ll take the lead on processing and tracking these changes, while also resolving any disputes that arise.

You're a great fit if you

Have experience in onboarding, KYC, or anti-money laundering (AML) controls—especially if you’ve done it in a fast-moving fintech.

Obsess over details and are confident interpreting customer evidence like ID documents and bank statements.

Know how to balance process compliance with an excellent customer experience. You should be empathetic to a customer’s needs and and really want to solve the tricky or sensitive problems together.

Work well with ambiguity and are confident building or improving operational processes.

You won’t be a great fit if you

Prefer a highly structured environment with established processes for every task.

Are uncomfortable with ambiguity and the need to develop new procedures.

Don’t want to take initiative or seek continuous improvement in processes.

What’s it like working at Yonder?

We’re office-first, remote-friendly

We’re based in our Hoxton office, complete with a terrace, breakfast, coffee, dogs and plenty of comfortable space to do your best work. We expect you to come in to the office at least 3 days a week, with everyone coming in on Mondays. During your first 6 weeks of training, you’ll likely need to come into the office full-time.

What’s the interview process like?

We take the candidate experience really seriously, so we’ve made the process as transparent as possible. We also promise to be super responsive, and will never leave you wondering where you stand for weeks on end.

Here’s how it works:

Stage 1: Hiring Manager Call (45 mins):

An initial call to get to know you, your experience and motivations, and to share more about Yonder. This will be with Antony.

Stage 2: Technical Task (60 mins, in person):

We’ll dive into two real-life questions that are representative of the day-to-day work you’d be doing in the role. This will be with MC (VP Strategy & Operations) and a member of our financial crime or compliance team.

Stage 3: Values Interview (60mins, in person):

Explore how your work style aligns with our principles. This will be with two people from the wider team.

Stage 4: Offer:

If everyone’s happy, we’ll make you an offer to join us - YAY! We hope to always give you a decision between each stage within 24 hours (where possible).

Other things to know:

  • We love closing the feedback loop at Yonder. You can expect specific feedback on our decision from Stage 2 onwards, and you can always ask for more.
  • We must complete the right to work & criminal background checks for every new Yonder-er for compliance purposes because we handle sensitive customer data.
  • We also do reference checks, ideally with your most recent manager on the phone.
  • We like to move quickly at Yonder, so we will be ready to onboard you once the above checks are complete - the entire process can take between 2 - 6 weeks.
