Onboard Head Of Housekeeping

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Housekeeping, to lead a team of 2 - 3 housekeepers aboard a luxury UK based Explorer train.

You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall appearance of the train. Lead the Cabin team to ensure the train is clean, well-maintained, and welcoming to guests, ensuring the highest standards of service and creating a luxurious and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the Cabin service for our guests, ensuring all services are delivered timeously and meet guest expectations.
2. Provide excellent customer service to guests in accordance with company and Leading Quality Assurance standards.
3. Monitor team members' effectiveness and implement corrective action where required.
4. Lead by example, providing a level of service and standards in line with company SOPs and customer expectations.
5. Ensure Cabin stewards receive all necessary documentation, information, and materials to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
6. Supervise loading and unloading of luggage.
7. Ensure guests are given the right cabin before departure with adequate amenities.
8. Make sure all luggage is properly loaded.
9. Monitor loading and unloading of materials.
10. Manage Cabins mise-en-place and clearing, providing help when necessary.
11. Control storage facilities.
12. Maintain the appearance of assigned Housekeeping areas, including cabins and public areas, with a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
13. Ensure that cabins are serviced as per company standards.
14. Report and coordinate maintenance work with the maintenance team to keep the train well maintained.
15. Ensure correct stock levels for guests.
16. Create, update, and implement departmental standard operating procedures.
17. Ensure adherence to operational standards and procedures of the department.
18. Implement measures and systems to improve cost efficiency and the internal and external customer experience.
19. Budget, plan, and monitor departmental expenditure.

Experience Required:

1. Flexible to work on board a luxury train (for up to 6 days at a time).
2. Previous experience in a similar role - advantageous.
3. Experience within the luxury hospitality industry - advantageous.
4. Relevant management or field/industry related diploma or degree.
5. Experience in managing a team.
6. Hospitality qualification advantageous.
7. Demonstrated ability to be innovative and creative.
8. Experience operating and using modern sewing machines, overlock machines, heat seal, steam irons, scissors, rippers, and bolt cutters safely and efficiently.
9. Experience in fixing tears, repairing seams, and performing alterations of garments.
10. Experience in resolving customer issues/complaints.
