Job summary

The Google Public Sector, Technical Delivery and Operations team in the UK seeks an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to deploy and manage private cloud infrastructure, automate tasks, and troubleshoot incidents. This on-site role supports London and satellite sites, with occasional on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.

You will work with Google product teams to scale deployments, roll out features, and improve security and performance across our private cloud environments in the UK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years of experience automating infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD.
• Experience with Linux/Docker/Kubernetes or Windows/AD environments.
• Scripting in Python, Go or Bash for automation.
• DV UK security clearance or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure and deploy compute, network, storage and security infrastructure.
• Resolve profile escalations, improve the customer experience, and drive initiatives.
• Manage health and performance using observability tools and apply updates.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for incident response.
• Provide technical implementation support in customer environments and cross-product integrations.
