On Site Support Technician

About the role:

An opportunity has become available for a Six (6) month fixed-term contract within our rapidly expanding Technical team. We are seeking a dynamic Support Technician based on-site at a school in the York area. The ideal candidate will have experience providing technical support in an educational environment, supporting customers with Windows, Google G Suites, and Smoothwall.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Providing ICT technical support, advice, and guidance across the school.
  2. Managing and maintaining the school's ICT equipment, including overseeing the health of equipment and devices.
  3. Installing, configuring, and deploying equipment.
  4. Handling general ICT support tasks such as password resets, printer issues, and setup.
  5. Managing expectations of the school, keeping them informed about progress.
  6. Working flexibly, sometimes outside normal hours, in response to service demands as agreed with the Head Teacher and the Group.
  7. Contributing to the ethos of the school in all interactions with staff and pupils.
  8. Supporting the school's staff policies.
  9. Performing other tasks as reasonably required by the Head Teacher or Senior Leadership Team.
  10. Proactively monitoring and prioritizing IT issues and escalating when necessary.
