Job summary

Releaf Dispensary Ltd in Leigh, Greater Manchester, is seeking an on-site prescribing pharmacist to provide safe, clinically-led prescribing and dispensing with a focus on controlled drugs, in line with our patient-first approach.

You will be a registered pharmacist with a valid GPhC pin and Independent Prescriber qualification, and you will work on-site at the Leigh pharmacy, supporting clinical teams, audits, and regulatory compliance while maintaining high standards of patient safety.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacist with a valid GPhC pin and authorisation to handle Controlled Drugs (CD) — mandatory.
• Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification, annotated on the GPhC register — mandatory.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site at the Leigh, Greater Manchester pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Clinically screen, verify, and dispense prescriptions issued by Releaf’s prescribers, ensuring accuracy for each patient.
• Independently prescribe within scope, where clinically appropriate, as part of the clinical team.
• Manage storage, handling, and record-keeping of Controlled Drugs in line with legal requirements.
• Maintain compliance with GPhC standards, CQC regulation, and CD legislation.
• Provide clinical advice to patients regarding medications, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
• Work on-site at the Leigh pharmacy, overseeing day-to-day operations and stock control.
