Job summary

Equans in Bellshill is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (Mechanical / Plumbing) to join our team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, reactive repairs, and on-site supervision of subcontractors.

You will work with water booster pumps, large diameter pipework, valves, and mechanical installations, maintaining safe, efficient operations. A valid driving licence and IOSH or equivalent safety qualification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Recognised industry qualification in mechanical or plumbing trades.
• Proven experience in commercial/industrial plumbing and mechanical maintenance.
• Expertise in PPM and repairs of water booster pumps.
• Experience servicing large diameter pipework components such as gate valves.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Health & Safety qualification (IOSH preferred).
• Computer literate with excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Fluent in English (written and oral).
• Available for out-of-hours standby rota participation.

Responsibilities

• Execute all PPM tasks in line with maintenance specifications and log progress.
• Complete and submit paperwork, E-Forms, and documentation promptly.
• Manage reactive maintenance tasks and raise quotations as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and plumbing systems including water booster pumps and valves.
• Perform risk assessments and ensure safe working practices with PPE and permits.
• Monitor and supervise subcontractors during site maintenance.
• Maintain clean, safe plant rooms and equipment.
• Participate in regional on-call rota for emergencies.
• Build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
