Job summary

Property Management Recruitment Ltd is seeking a hands-on maintenance operative for two Leeds apartment buildings. You’ll split your week between sites, handling reactive repairs and prepping empty units, with a focus on painting and decorating.

Contractors handle electrics; you’ll cover general handyman tasks from 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, no evenings or weekends. Join a growing maintenance team in a stable, long-term role with room to develop and progress as the department expands,

Qualifications

• Hands-on handyman or general maintenance experience.
• Confident painting and decorating to a high finish.
• Friendly, professional manner with a real focus on customer service.
• Reliable, organised and happy working on your own initiative.
• Good awareness of health and safety on site, including COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Respond to residents' repair requests and complete jobs within agreed timescales.
• Turn around empty apartments, including painting, decorating, lock changes and clearing items.
• Carrying out general repairs such as minor plumbing, joinery and fabric repairs.
• Completing weekly safety checks, including fire alarm and emergency lighting tests.
• Keeping communal areas, bin stores and outdoor spaces clean, safe and well presented.
• Logging work on the maintenance system and ordering materials through approved suppliers.
