Property Management Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a hands-on maintenance operative to cover two apartment buildings in Leeds. Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:30pm, focusing on reactive repairs and getting empty flats ready for new residents.

You'll perform painting and decorating and general handyman tasks while contractors handle electrics, with opportunities for development within the growing team.

Formación

• Hands-on general maintenance experience in any trade.
• Confident painting and decorating to a high finish.
• Friendly, professional manner with strong customer service.
• Reliable, organised and capable of working on own initiative.
• Aware of health and safety on site, including COSHH.
• Experience in residential property or build to rent is desirable.
• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in construction trade is desirable.
• Knowledge of L8 water hygiene requirements is desirable.
• CSCS, PASMA or IPAF cards are desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to residents' repair requests and complete jobs within agreed timescales.
• Turn around empty apartments, including painting, decorating, lock changes and clearing items.
• Carry out general repairs such as minor plumbing, joinery and fabric repairs.
• Complete weekly safety checks, including fire alarm and emergency lighting tests.
• Keep communal areas, bin stores and outdoor spaces clean, safe and well presented.
• Log work on the maintenance system and order materials through approved suppliers.

About our client

Our client is one of the UK's leading residential rental landlords. They run modern apartment buildings with an on-site resident services team. How residents feel about where they live matters a lot to them, so they're careful about who they bring in.

The role

You'll be the in-house maintenance operative for two apartment buildings in Leeds, splitting your week between them. Most of the work is reactive repairs and getting empty apartments ready for new residents, so expect plenty of painting and decorating. Contractors handle electrics and other specialist work, so you'll focus on general handyman jobs. Hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with no evenings or weekends. The maintenance team is growing, and the role has real room to develop as it does.
