Job summary

Slate Hall Veterinary Services in the Greater Cambridge Area is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its UKAS-accredited diagnostic laboratory. The role offers full-time, on-site work with comprehensive training for a recent graduate or those new to diagnostic microbiology.

There is scope to develop skills across microbiology, serology, water testing and bacteriology while contributing to high-quality poultry diagnostics and welfare in the UK.

Qualifications

• Qualified in microbiology or related science, or equivalent lab experience.
• Strong communication and IT skills with meticulous record-keeping.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary veterinary diagnostic lab.

Responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostic testing including Salmonella isolation, RSA serology, ELISA and hygiene monitoring.
• Process and prepare clinical/environmental samples and record data accurately.
• Maintain equipment, biosafety standards and laboratory cleanliness.
