Job summary

Total Fleet Support in Birmingham is seeking a Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician to maintain, service and repair HGVs and trailers on site. You will perform routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, engine servicing and electrical repairs to ensure safety and uptime.

The role requires strong hands-on skills, DVSA and industry standards awareness, and the ability to document work accurately while collaborating with the workshop team and mobile engineers.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in HGV and trailer maintenance, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Experience with electrical fault-finding and repair on commercial vehicles and trailers.
• Experience in MOT preparation, safety inspections and brake testing.
• Welding, fabrication and general bodywork repairs for commercial vehicles and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair HGVs and trailers to ensure safety and uptime.
• Carry out routine maintenance and safety inspections, fault diagnosis and engine servicing.
• Support on-site and off-site breakdowns as required and document all work accurately.
